DuckRace Cambo 2022

The DuckRace Cambo is a giant lottery in the form of bath duck races! A colorful, fun and festive family event that attracts the attention of the entire population for a good cause.

The purpose of this event is to organize a sale of small numbered bath ducks. For each donation of €4, our contributors adopt a duck with a big heart who will participate in the DuckRace of the Basque country!

Sunday July 3, 2022 in Cambo les Bains in New Aquitaine.

On the day of the race the ducks are released on the Nive and the first to arrive wins the car!

HISTORICAL

Initiated in 1988 by the Rotary Club of Halifax in Canada, the “Duck Race” has been very popular in recent years all over the world (Europe – USA – Australia…)
Since 2014, this phenomenon has increased, particularly in
France with the participation of the cities, among others, of Amiens, Angers, Le Mans, Quimper, Orléans, the latter holding the French record with 30,000 sponsored ducks... and now, for a third edition, in
Cambo-Les-Bains in the Basque Country!

PRINCIPLE

The concept is to sell numbered tickets attached to 20,000 rubber ducks bearing the same number.
The ducks are then put in the water in the Nive at Cambo-les Bains according to the principle of a race. The first duck to arrive earns its sponsor the 1st prize and so on.
The purchase or sponsorship of these ducks is done either online on the website: duckrace64.fr , or by
numbered paper tickets sold in various places in the Basque Country and south of the Landes

RESULTS

Upon arrival of the race, the winning numbered ducks will be collected by a bailiff.
The holders of the winning numbers will be revealed during a ceremony scheduled at the Jardin Public du Bas-Cambo.
Sponsors who are winners but absent that day, whose contact details were recorded at the time of their registration, will be contacted to inform them of the prize won.

For the 3rd time in the Basque Country, the K2LOR Association, supported by the city of Cambo-Les-Bains, the Service Clubs KIWANIS Josette Celhay Bayonne – LIONS Biarritz Ilbarritz Côte Basque – as well as by the OGEC of Cambo-Les-Bains ,
organizes a race of numbered rubber ducks, called

Sunday July 3, 2022 at 4 p.m., on the Nive in Cambo-Les-Bains.

CHANTECLER, according to the work of Edmond Rostand, is the Rooster, king of the barnyard, who asks his subjects, the ducks, to take part in a race...
There are 20,000 ducks and… not one more…, who compete in a race on the NIVE at Cambo-Les-Bains.
These ducks, identifiable by numbers, are put in the water at the height of the beach in the “Haurtzain” district to finish their race 500 meters below, at the level of the bridge leading to the SNCF station in the Bas-Cambo district.
The sponsor, holder of the ticket bearing the number of the first winning duck, becomes the proud owner of a car.
Many other prizes will be up for grabs.

Each of us is therefore invited to adopt the ducks of solidarity
and come and encourage them at 4 p.m. on the banks of the Nive.
At the end of the “race”, the results will be announced at the Jardin Public du Bas-Cambo.
On site, before and after the "race": Fast food - Refreshment bar - Entertainment - Games - will be available for young and old.
The organizers are counting on your support to bring this festive, family and fun event to charity.
